The great thing about social media is it means you have the opportunity to connect with people and organisations which you may not necessarily know yet. This happened recently via our Facebook page when I was contacted by Dorothy, a volunteer from The Little Brown Dog Rescue; a small foster based rescue located in North Wales. I love engaging with followers and hearing stories (so always feel free to contact us) so I was only too happy to look further into this organisation which I hadn’t yet heard of. I was impressed by this rescue and only too happy to feature two of their dogs in need of a home as part of our Sunday Dog Stories this week. So sit back, relax and come and have a quick read about the adorable Spot & Winston…

INTRODUCING SPOT

#SundayDogStories: This stunning chap is Spot and he’s a 16 month old Border Collie. What a beauty!! Spot is in need of a special type of home though. You see Spot was originally trained as a working farm dog but sadly he didn’t quite reach the mark! That being said, he still has a lot of the working skills in his veins which means he’s interested in chasing livestock and small furries (understandable if that’s what you’ve been taught and all you’ve ever known!)

In light of this and given his active background and instinctive chasing nature, Spot is in need of a very active home with someone who ideally has experience with this type of breed or someone who does a lot of agility, fly ball or canicross. Spot needs to be extremely active and needs to be able to use that lovely brain of his so he doesn’t get bored.

As with all dogs from The Little Brown Dog Rescue, Spot is currently being fostered along with another dog. He has a lovely nature and gets on well with most dogs he meets; is fully housetrained and loves to be loved. Do you think you could give Spot a home or know someone who could? To find out more details about Spot, go to their Facebook page HERE (where they’re most active) or their Website HERE.

INTRODUCING WINSTON

#SundayDogStories: This adorable boy is Winston, a 3-4 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Poor old Winston has clearly had a horrid time of late. He was rescued from a local pound where he was picked up as a stray. Nobody came forward for Winston so The Little Brown Dog Rescue leapt into action to find him a foster home until he can find a permanent home of his own. As a result of his difficult past, he’s currently underweight but hopefully he’ll be able to put weight back on in no time.

Despite what he’s been through, Winston has a very gentle nature and loves affection. He’s also surprisingly happy (he’s probably relieved to be receiving some love, although he’d no doubt be even happier if he had a home of his very own). The other thing which makes Winston happy is a good old tennis ball! He loves nothing more that a good game of fetch. Would you like to be the one to add to Winston’s happiness by helping find him a forever home? If so, you can find more details via their Facebook Page HERE or Website HERE.

THANK YOU!

As always, thank you for taking the time to take a peek at another week of Sunday Dog Stories. You’re fab!! It’s small organisations like The Little Brown Dog Rescue which particularly rely so much on support from all of us. Let’s all help them by sharing the stories of Spot & Winston.

A big Thank You to The Little Brown Dog Rescue for all their work helping dogs. They’re currently in the process of working towards charity status and we have no doubt in our mind they deserve it. As for Spot & Winston, we’ve got everything crossed for you both.

GOOD LUCK SPOT & WINSTON!! xxx
