Has your dog had a bit of a ‘ruff’ time recently or do you just fancy spoiling your favourite four-legged friend every now and again? Well we may have found the answer for you!! A while ago we were approached by our lovely friends Wellybix via Twitter and they kindly sent us some of their delicious dog treats to try (we’re pretty sure you can hear Ted and Millie’s tummies rumbling at the very thought of them!) Today we’re going to tell you all you need to know about the wonderful Wellybix and let you know our thoughts about some of their treats! So what are we waiting for?? Let’s go….

WHO ARE WELLYBIX?

Based in the North East (an area we particular love, having lived there for 4 years!) Wellybix was created in 2012 by the lovely Alison. Inspired by her gorgeous Jack Russell Terrier Welly Bob (or Welly to his friends!) Alison used to bake him treats (Ted is already giving me a dirty look for failing to bake for him!) Alison started supplying her hand baked treats to local businesses and soon found they were so popular she needed to expand! Welly is chief taster and it seems both he and Alison are very good at their jobs, based on how quickly Ted and Millie inhaled the treats sent to us. All of the products from Wellybix are free from artificial preservatives, colours, flavour enhancers, salt or sugar. Does this stop them from tasting good?? Simple answer; absolutely not! As you can see from the video below, Ted was rather impatient as he didn’t want to just look at the packaging, he wanted the treats to be opened. So his wish came true…

PRODUCT ONE

Chocolate flavour with carob (£3.25)

First thing to point out about these particular treats; they do not contain your standard human chocolate (as you may know, chocolate can be poisonous to dogs). Luckily for our furry friends, these delicious biscuits just taste of chocolate as they contain carob which is safe for dogs, yippee!!! Not only is it safe, but carob is rich in vitamins and is good for digestion too. With these treats around, your dog can no longer make you feel guilty when you don’t share your own chocolate.

PRODUCT TWO

Carrot with fresh parsley (£3.25)

Looking to give your dog a good boost of vitamins? Then look no further. These carrot with fresh parsley treats are packed full of Vitamins A, C and E and not only that, they also help with digestion as they’re high in fibre. A little gem of a treat to give your dog if you’re looking for a healthy treat to compliment your dog’s diet (but just because they’re healthy, doesn’t mean they’re not delicious as demonstrated by Ted and the way they disappeared the moment they were near his mouth!)

Rating 9/10

 PRODUCT THREE

Peanut butter and spelt flour (£3.25)

These are Wellybix bestselling treats and we can see why! Ted and Millie absolutely wolfed these down. The other great thing?? They’re completely wheat free, so if your dog has a sensitive tummy, these could be the ideal treat for them. They even smell delicious too! No wonder the tails of Ted and Millie couldn’t stop wagging at the prospect of eating one of these! They were definitely the favourite out of all three choices.

PAWS UP OR PAWS DOWN?

We can wholeheartedly say it is a big ‘Paws Up’ from camp TWILIGHT BARK UK! Fantastic treats, good prices and the treats all last well too (each packet comes with a ‘use by’ date which is really helpful; not that any of the treats stay around long enough to even reach it!) We love the packaging too. A great company run by great people. If you fancy trying some of the treats we tried, either click directly on the name of the product and it will take you directly to the online shop. Alternatively if you’d like to see what other delicious goodies they have in store, check out their website HERE. A huge thank you to Wellybix for sending us such delicious treats to try. Yummy!!!
